this is mandatory for us to move on

But, “Can we forgive?” Yes. Yes, I believe we can. Although, we may not ever forget.
I have come to the conclusion that the ONLY way out of the predicament we find ourselves in (meaning the non-stop, never-ending, constant costly investigations into criminal allegations that never go anywhere), is to literally forgive everyone for everything they have ever done in government (short of murder, child molestation and treason, of course). Then vote them out.
We as a nation must move forward. We are as a stick, caught in an eddy, circling round and round, getting murkier and murkier, until the water is completely stagnant and smelling awful and the stick is nowhere to be found.
We must move back out, into the flow of the river, moving in a single direction, guided by common sense and wisdom. We must forgive and let go… and move on.
Imagine if instead of investigating, we just rid ourselves of all of it through our vote. If a boxer can do anything, a boxer can dig stuff up and out. (THIS IS IMPORTANT: America, if you no longer wish to experience a never-ending stream of adversarial arguing, which do nothing for you but put you further in debt with your government and results in nothing good getting done, then may I humbly and respectfully offer this advice, stop voting those citizens in, who do it for a living.)
Forgive. Move forward. But this time we will not be going back to the future, we will be moving ahead to the past. A past where a handshake meant something and words mattered and people were held to them. A past when neighbors got along, even though they had their differences. A time before ADVERSARIAL consciousness. It can happen through your vote.
Besides forgiving, I believe these other things also need to happen for The American People to get their country back:
Term limits plus: 2 terms for Senators, 6 terms for Representatives. No one retires anymore. Everyone goes back and lives with their legislation. Thus, ending the people’s burden they must carry. And no one goes to work, lobbying for a special interest group, for 5 years after leaving Office.
Absolutely no connection to Wall Street for all elected government officials. No trading/selling of stocks or bonds while in office. Period. End of chewy. You may keep what you have going in (unless there is a conflict of interest). But that’s it. No more making a killing as a servant off the backs of hard working Americans. It’s all about integrity.
The pay of all elected officials will DECREASE 25% per year for every year America runs a deficit. Automatic pay increases will be canceled. It would be a good incentive to run balanced books.
Each year the budget will be published in plain English and the people will know not only where their money is going, but also, where it’s coming from and what it’s costing them. Everything must be read before I will sign it. No legislation will be hurriedly passed. Instead, good scrutiny and judgment will be enforced. And The American People will be told what is in every Bill – completely.
America, it is time to move on. It is time to let the dead bury their dead bones. It’s time to end the fighting. Think about it, in 50 years’ time, will anything of what’s happening in today’s America even be remembered? Unlikely. Or how about the names in the news? Probably not. But they will point to right now, the creation of the boxer party, as the turning point, where America came back from the brink of the abyss and was saved by its people and a dog.
It’s time to forgive and let go of the past. We will learn from it, but we’re done re-living it.
P.s. On a sidebar…
The system should not be called The Criminal Justice System. It should be called The Victim Justice System or The Criminal Punishment System. Everyone should always be reminded that it’s the victim that’s receiving the justice. Criminals get punishment. (Just chewin’ on a bone, although it may seem contradictory to forgiving.)
